Our annual vacation to the Outer Banks went a little different this year - we had a baby in tow! Last year's trip to Duck was to celebrate our babymoon. I laugh when I think back to that time - my 32 week belly, sipping virgin piña coladas in the pool at the Sanderling. Hard to remember that pre-baby life, and even harder to believe we would be back a year later with an almost one year old. Time is such a beast.
We had a great trip spending quality time with family - my mom, sister and brother-in-law, two nieces, cousin, and three dogs all took part in sharing the week together. Minus a little hiccup with Faire catching a cold and slight fever mid-week, we had nearly perfect weather the entire week. We found the perfect, little rental with a private pool and a huge yard for the pups (bonus, the beaches in Southern Shores are off leash, dog friendly!). Our days were spent in the sunshine at the beach, pool, and riding our cruiser bikes. Faire's new favorite activity was riding around in this baby seat.
Every morning started at Duck's Cottage for the best iced coffee on the Banks. The cutest little shop that also serves as a bookstore.
A seafood steamer pot finale for our last night, full of lobster, crab legs, shrimp, and oysters. Seriously, the best.
And if you follow me on Instagram, you saw our mandatory photo we had to snap of Faire in front of the Scarborough Faire sign - the place where we decided her name while we were babymooning. Duck will always have a piece of our hearts, and we can't wait to go back later this year!
