INSIDE MY DIAPER BAG
If you asked me how long my search was to find the perfect diaper bag when I was pregnant, I would be scared to tell you - and my husband can vouch. After stumbling upon Fawn Design on Instagram, I fell immediately in love with the brand's minimal and sophisticated design, as I tried to steer away from any prints or loud color. The bag functions as both a shoulder bag and a backpack, saving you from those moments where you need all hands on deck for baby, without a bag flopping in the way. Because we've all been there. There are nine pockets for organization and the entire bag is wipeable. Not to mention, the founder Jenny is an absolute sweetheart and her story of how she got started is the ultimate small business inspiration.
I have literally worn this diaper bag every single day since Faire was born.
Here's what you can find in my bag:
Changing Pad: Gathre's Micro Mat is made from bonded leather, providing a beautiful, yet wipeable surface that folds up easily for storage.
Swaddles: No diaper bag should ever leave the house without a swaddle blanket and/or burp cloths. Modern Burlap makes adorable organic cotton muslin options in tons of cute prints and patterns.
Baby Carrier: I always like to have a sling on hand in case we are running quick errands and want to hold Faire close. Compared to wraps, slings are much quicker for me to take baby in and out and they don't take up too much space in the bag. My favorite brands are Sakura Bloom and Wildbird.
Food: We have been using Plum Organics baby food pouches ever since Faire began solids, and they couldn't make it easier for food on the go. I like to keep one in my bag at all times in case of a hunger emergency. Their teething wafers are also a great option to have on hand.
Products: We love every product by Tubby Todd, especially their all over ointment (great for diaper rashes, cuts or scrapes) and freshening spray. With the summer months here, sunscreen for baby is a must. This stick version by Babyganics is a perfect option and mess free.
Toys/Teethers: Two of Faire's favorite teethers are this one by Comotomo, and none other than Sophie the Giraffe. We also like to carry around this one by Chewbeads that clips on the car seat, stroller, and shopping cart and any wooden toy by Bannor Toys.
Onesies: I've learned the hard way of forgetting that spare onesie in the event of a blowout when we are miles from home. An extra outfit, socks, even a pair of shoes are great to have on hand in case they're needed. H&M and Old Navy offer fantastic basics that I don't mind keeping in my bag at all times.
