This past Sunday, we decided on a whim to head to Virginia's Northern Neck, about an hour outside of Richmond. We've had this place on our bucket list of daycations for years, and yesterday's sunshine and 60-something degree weather solidified our decision to go.
To no surprise, we found our happy place (and likely a spot we will visit at least once a month until the end of summer). Merroir is a little gem right in the heart of Topping, Virginia that sits on the banks of the Rappahannock River. Adam and I are huge oyster fans, so with a dozen olde salts, a 1/4 pound of steamed shrimp, two pale ales, and a grilled strawberry pound cake, we were in a little slice of heaven. The best part, Faire was totally in her element with the salty breeze and shade in her stroller. A perfect Sunday and we are already looking forward to going back in June!
